Tubeworker 21/10/07: Fight Casualisation

Submitted by Tubeworker on 24 October, 2007 - 10:47

As London Underground takes over some stations from private company Silverlink, it plans to bring in private security guards and agency staff, and to use mobile station supervisors to cover several stations.

And as the unions belatedly wake up to this attack, Tubeworker calls for a determined fight to stop casualisation.

Tubeworker also reports on the rail unions' non-assertion at the recent Labour Party conference. Workplace reports include the forthcoming Bakerloo line detrainment strike, the latest on the ticket office closures, and news for Tube cleaners.
