Protest against Bush!

Submitted by vickim on 6 November, 2003 - 1:39

George Bush's state visit to Britain, 19-21 November, has been planned for a year now, but the timing turns out to be inopportune for Tony Blair. It will renew the resistance to his foreign policy - and by extension to him. And it could turn out to be inopportune for George Bush too if news gets back to the US that Buckingham Palace is practically the only address in the country where he can find a welcome.
Solidarity encourages its readers to get involved in the protests. There will be elements of stunt about these events, but the reasons to protest are too important not to get involved.
Most of the events listed below are in London but you can find details of events in other towns - and download your own George Bush mask! - from the Stop the War Coalition website, http://www.stopwar.org.uk. We advise confirming all details before setting out.
