poor deal for low paid nhs workers

i wonder if anybody can explain to me, why unison told its members in the nhs to vote yes for the new agenda for change package. as this is going to discriminate against the workers it is supposed to protect. ie low paid clerical workers,at the expense of giving already well paid nurses and managers a further boost in their earnings . under the old whitley council i was on a grade 3 giving me as a switchboard operator approx 14,140 a year . under agenda for change i will fall back to just over 13000 a year . but never mind they say , my earnings will be protected for 3 years on a mark time basis. meaning i will never get my annual rate of inflation wage rise. what has happened to the trade union movement in this country, do they really like tony blairs tea and cakes and chat up lines. angry socialist
