Daniel DeLeon, the centenary of whose death falls in 2014, was one of the great early expounders of Marxism. In this speech, delivered in Minneapolis on July 10, 1905, he explains the root ideas of Marxism that are enshrined in the Preamble to the Constitution of the Industrial Workers of the World, recently founded.
