TSSA members join November strikes

TSSA members on Network will strike over pay, jobs, and conditions on 3, 5, and 7 November, alongside RMT members striking on the same days. TSSA members at various TOCs (see below) will also take action on 3, 5, 7 and 8 November, with action-short-of-strikes planned throughout November.

Cleaners' fights spread

With Atalian Servest cleaners on Avanti West Coast and Churchill cleaners on numerous TOCs still in dispute, having taken multiple days of strike action, RMT is expanding its cleaners' fights to several other companies.

The union has announced plans to ballot Atalian Servest cleaners on LNER...

TSSA fails to fight as Bands 1-4 accept below-inflation deal

It's disappointing to see that bands 1 to 4 at Network Rail, the "management grades", have voted to accept a one year, below inflation 4% pay offer.

This is hardly surprising given that TSSA, the union with negotiating rights for bands 1 to 4, recommended accepting the offer. TSSA said that band 1...

TSSA members join the fight

More than 6,000 TSSA members at Network Rail have voted for industrial action over pay, jobs, and conditions, potentially bringing them into battle alongside RMT members at Network Rail, and RMT, Aslef, and other TSSA members at the TOCs.

TSSA disaggregated its ballot into three sections, with...

Network Rail: Full Steam Ahead With Cuts?

Network Rail is moving towards implementing its modernising maintenance proposals. On 21 June, the first strike day, it wrote to staff, saying 'inconclusive' talks from the day before meant 'it would be moving to formal consultation ... the natural next step given the urgent need to reform'.

Wrong Routes

We've written elsewhere about reasons for drivers not to cross RMT picket lines but to add another to the list, this image shows a mere five-hour snapshot from Network Rail's incident database. In that short time, nine wrong routes were offered by scab signallers. That's nine drivers put at risk of...

An Insult not an Offer

Network Rail have made an 'offer' that is worth less than the paper it is written on. Quite rightly, RMT's National Executive chucked it in the metaphorical bin.

Management can not possibly think we would do anything else with an 'offer' of 2% (less than one-fifth of the inflation rate) from this...

Network Rail TSSA members: Vote for strikes!

It's great news that TSSA is balloting its members on Network Rail for strike action and action short of a strike. The ballot opens on Monday, 20 June and closes on Monday 11 July 2022.

Bands 5 to 8 and Controller grades have had no pay increase for two years. Bands 1 to 4 have had nothing for...

TSSA members: vote yes for action!

TSSA has announced ballots of its members at several TOCs and Network Rail for industrial action over pay, conditions, and job security, opening up the possibility of further coordinated action between rail unions later in the summer.

870 TSSA members across Avanti West Coast, East Midlands Railway...
