On Saturday 2 July, a one-under at Edgware Road resulted in a dead body. You'd think that it would be taken away as soon as possible to the mortuary - for reasons of hygiene, safety and, well, dignity.
But no. Management saw fit to dump it in a cleaners' store cupboard for five hours, until two cleaners and a member of station staff found it.
Rumbled by the union exposing this sorry incident to the media, management hastily claimed that the corpse was stored according to 'procedure'. Funnily enough, no-one has yet been able to produce the Storage of Dead Bodies Procedure or point to the relevant section of the Rule Book. And we strongly suspect that while the room's Storage Licence specified cleaning materials, it did not specify 'corpses'.
Ah well, so long as the train service got running again as soon as poss.
Quite right
Quite right.
