Workers employed as van drivers on the Mitie cleaning contract are balloting for industrial action to resist the imposition of invasive technology in their cabs.
Workers are concerned that, rather than being used to improve staff safety, they will be used for surveillance and discipline. The cameras are equipped with technology that can detect when workers are yawning. There are are already cases of workers facing disciplinary action based on camera footage.
The RMT's ballot closes on 6 August.
