Heading for Disaster

Posted in Tubeworker's blog on ,

Monday evening, and the all-new TBTC system signals a train onto the Mill Hill branch of the Northern line. Only problem is: it's a single-track branch and there was already a train in there! A head-on collision was only prevented by a Code Red and the drivers applying the brakes.

So, new technology is the way forward, right? So much so that we can have it rushed it and gambles taken with our and our passengers' lives, apparently. Once again, the swift action of workers has prevented potentially disastrous consequences of technical failures. And yet BoJo wants to take the drivers off the trains altogether!

TBTC should be suspended while this is investigated; any thoughts of driverless trains should be consigned to the dustbin; and the TfL funding cut should be immediately scrapped.

Anyone up for refusing to operate in TBTC?
