Up the Shard

TfL hosted an event at the Shard in January, treating staff to the views and dinner at the company’s expense.

This was supposed to reward staff for their hard work. Tubeworker feels sure a few deserving individuals managed an invite.

However, invitations seemed to be weighted in favour of the well-to-do, management and their friends. Management didn’t waste the opportunity to distinguish their favourites and put others down in the process.

On C2C, all staff were treated to a buffet lunch and vouchers for a London attraction. It was less posh, but all staff benefited. Less division and competition is better for creating a feeling of solidarity between ourselves and our workmates.
