Cleaners to Work on Unstaffed Stations?

Posted in Tubeworker's blog on ,

Tubeworker hears reports of a mystery figure wandering round stations taking photos - apparently investigating sites for remote booking-on machines for cleaners.

But why, we might ask, would cleaners need to book on via a machine? Surely they book on with the Station Supervisor? Or is there a plan to have cleaners work on stations with no Station Supervisor on duty? Meaning a plan either to leave Supervisor duties uncovered, or to remove Supervisors from some stations?

This would leave cleaners working alone, and therefore vulnerable, and SS jobs under threat.

The upshot of this is that station staff and cleaners (and all other grades) should unite against this nonsense.
