Working From Home

Posted in Tubeworker's blog on ,

London Underground have suddenly become sympathetic and understanding if you can't get to work through sickness.

But only if you're a manager!

One Duty Station Manager was recently told he could 'work from home' instead of going sick.

If we're so sick we need to stay at home, we get a 26 week warning for the privilege. A manager stays at home punishment-free?!

We always say DSMs don't do much. If you try to contact them or there is an incident on the Station, they are nowhere to be seen. What exactly is it that managers do to justify £50+K, if they can work from home and not be missed?

We, on the other hand, actually do the work to run the stations. That's the real reason they could never let us work from home.
