Bonus Bribery?

Posted in Tubeworker's blog on ,

LU have told staff we will get £300 for our efforts this year, according to the Customer Satisfaction Scores. Not only have we met and exceeded targets for the last two quarters, but our average for the year has been high enough to win us an extra £100.

Nobody was expecting this extra £100. We don't really see how it's happened. To most of us, it looks like bribery. We hate the manipulative bonus system. LU are determined to base part of our Olympic reward on CSS. Is this LU's last ditch attempt to give us faith in this biased system before the Olympics is upon us?

LU have been refusing our call for an all-grades Olympics bonus. This proves that money is not the issue. They could have added this £100 onto our Olympic lump sum, bringing stations, service control and engineering grades closer to drivers. Everyone would have been happy.

But they would rather maintain the distinction between drivers and other grades in the Olympics payment, as in everything else. Keeping us divided is more important to them than the cash they have available.
