Tube Lines: Keep it up!

Posted in Tubeworker's blog on ,

Tube Lines workers have walked out across the job in the fight for pensions and passes equality. There has been some service disruption, but we can expect it to increase as the strike goes on, with trains not prepped properly, checks not carried out and faults are left unrepaired.

Management are, as usual, prepare to act fast and loose with standards and safety in order to undermine the strike. ERU vehicles driven by non-ERU staff have been seen (literally) crashing out of depots, as the ERU attempts to operate from premises that aren't suitable and don't even belong to Tube Lines. (Funny how the law allows one employer to support another during a strike, but doesn't allow unions and workforces to do the same!)

Some drivers are pursuing their right to refuse to work due to safety concerns, and staff can remain vigilant for additional safety concerns that may arise as the strike goes on.

With effective picketing, keeping up the momentum, and everyone staying alert, we can crank up the pressure on management and win this essential fight.
