LU Traffic Circular 43 contained the worrying 'change to rule book': 'If a station supervisor has concerns with a contractor or persons signing in...the station supervisor must not deny access'. They now have to ring a duty operations engineer and can only deny access if authorised.
Meanwhile, station supervisors' CDP is telling SS's to leave a section 12 station unstaffed to deal with incidents elsewhere. There is talk of contractors being given a PIN device to book themselves on, preparing the ground for when there is no night supervisor.
During the last jobs campaign, LU's propaganda reassured us that they were committed to staffing stations 'throughout the traffic day'. This message has been confirmed in the 'leaked document'.
Time to get all station supervisors in a union and prepare to fight for hundreds of jobs!
