Another Near Miss

Posted in Tubeworker's blog on ,

On Tuesday morning, an elderly passenger dropped some personal stuff on the track on the westbound at Chancery Lane - and got down onto the track to retrieve it! Fortunately, some other passengers got him off the track in time to avert a nasty accident, but it was a potential disaster for the passenger and a trauma for the driver.

Guess what? Chancery Lane station used to have staff on the westbound platform during the morning peak, and now it doesn't.

A member of station staff travelled with the understandably-rattled driver to the stabling point. That left the station with just two staff on duty.

And guess what? Management have just cut the minimum staffing level at the station to ... two.

Forgive us for not feeling too confident about management's commitment to safe levels of station staffing.
