Displacement Threat Again?

Posted in Tubeworker's blog on ,

London Underground management are again rattling their sabres about potentially displacing "over-establishment" station staff.

What a rank cheek. Not only is it irrational to displace anyone while at the same time freezing vacancies, but the over-establishment "problem" is a problem of LUL management's own making. The idea that any station has a "problem" of too many staff is a sick joke.

While the recent letter to over-establishment staff from management is not notice of displacement, it has certainly got people worried - and rightly so.

Since management have been threatening displacements for nearly two years now, the unions have done quite well in stopping them going ahead so far (with the exception of a small number on Ricky, Charing Cross and Embankment groups last year). They now have to keep this up, and give no ground to any move from management to displace anyone.
