Defective Seats and Defective Managers

Posted in Tubeworker's blog on ,

LUL seems to have a problem fitting safe and comfortable seats in drivers' cabs - and with drivers who complain about it.

On the Central Line, an RMT safety rep is refusing to drive because the seats pose such a danger to back health.

And on the Northern line, one particular manager has taken it upon himself to persecute drivers who object to their inadequate seats. He has asked managers and controllers to mark all seat incidents as an item, even if there is no delay, and wants to build a case against drivers who have the temerity to stand up for our health and safety rather than risk back injury. In his own words, he seems to think that there is a problem with 'defective drivers' rather than defective seats.

Controllers should refuse to go along with this attempt to victimise drivers, and dirvers should carry on complaining about the seats.
