Readers may remember LUL's daft idea of introducing a minimum £5 Oyster top-up at the ticket office window. When management floated the idea last month, Tubeworker pointed out how ridiculous and dangerous it is, and the unions objected too.
Despite this, it appears that management are going ahead anyway, with a 'trial' on five stations: London Bridge, Bond Street, Liverpool Street, Earl's Court and South Kensington.
It is down to us to ensure that this 'trial' results in a 'guilty' verdict! Staff at these five stations should have nothing to do with the trial, and staff everywhere else should give their workmates full support.
Why should we put up with endless guff from maangement about 'customer service', only to be expected to provide a crap service in order to drive those very same customers away?! Anyone would think that management are setting up a pretext to close ticket offices ...
