Stairs Out Of Action

It appears that as we write, Kennington station's stairs are unusable, and the only way in or out of the station is the lifts. And yet a local DSM has decided that it is safe to keep the station open and trains running.

We don't agree. It's the Friday peak and the busiest day of the year for passenger traffic, so what are they going to do if passengers exiting the station start blocking back onto the platforms? And what if the station needs to be evacuated? You're not supposed to use lifts in an evauation, you know, ...

It seems that it might just be a matter of water ingress, and perhaps the stairs may be able to be used in an emergency, but still ...
