Refusing to Drive

A few months back, dozens of Edgware Road train ops refused to drive their trains when the radios failed. Quite right too.

Management's response? A disciplinary letter! Looking out for the safety of thousands of passengers (and yourself) is obviously very very naughty.

In the face of LUL's contemptuous attitude, the unions pulled out of the Joint Working Group on security matters, and the issue is now coming to a head. RMT and ASLEF have to insist that this outrageous letter is withdrawn and that the company gives a firm commitment that no disciplinary action will be taken against these fine, upstanding people.

The drivers' refusal took place before the July terror attacks. If the bombings don't make management rethink, then perhaps continued refusal to drive without working radios will concentrate their minds.
