No love for Love Island adverts from station staff

Promotional PAs advertising ITV's Love Island at Oxford Circus had to be modified after both passengers and staff found them unbearable. The musical jingle intro and outro to the announcements provoked numerous complaints, and the PAs were eventually altered so they were only played in limited areas of the station.

Staff raised the issues straight away with both local management and the relevant LU/TfL department responsible for promotional advertisements.

Management clearly thinks it's appropriate to sell the use of our station PA systems, which are needed for safety-critical announcements, to the highest commercial bidder. It's another example of corporate and commercial concerns taking precedence over issues of safety, service, and passenger and staff welfare.
