Driving us to despair

Numerous local managers, particularly on stations, are now blocking request for the reimbursement of mileage expenses, and telling staff they're expected to use public transport to get to and from work.

Public health advice remains to avoid public transport if at all possible. For staff who have the option, surely this means driving to work is the better option - so why isn't the company supporting and incentivising that?

It's particularly galling given that LU is now using distancing measures that've been implemented as evidence that it's safe for vulnerable workers with underlying health conditions to return to work, and pressuring many to do so. Meanwhile, it won't incentivise a basic distancing measure.

Unions are rightly challenging this stinginess.
