Sunday Closure

Posted in Tubeworker's blog on ,

When Charing Cross mainline station is closed for engineering works, mainline services run from Cannon Street instead. So it's a good idea for Cannon Street Tube station to be open, you'd think.

It's usually closed on a Sunday, so that would require extra staffing. But with management cutting staffing levels across the system under the pretext of the shorter working week, for large parts of last Sunday, Cannon Street Tube remained closed while Cannon Street mainline was busy busy busy. Result: naffed off passengers, stressed out staff.

Maybe it should have been another job for the mysterious 'special events team', promised in the shorter working week deal but never delivered.

By the way - what kind of score do you think we'd have got on a customer satisfaction survey conducted at Cannon Street on Sunday? What chance of getting your bonus, then?!
