No More Ticket Office at TCR?

Tottenham Court Road ticket office will close its windows for the final time at the end of this week. The ticket office is closing as part of the Crossrail upgrade program, but will it ever re-open?

The drawings for the new station do contain a ticket office, but there is a question mark over what this space will be used for when the new station opens. No doubt LU has its eye on it as potential retail space and might already be getting on the phone to its friends at Tesco and Amazon.

But it's not too late to save Tottenham Court Road - and every other - ticket office. The public is outraged that LU is taking the ticket offices, which are a public service for London. A lively public and
political campaign, using all the pressure that will be possible in the run-up to the General Election, could make TfL change its mind on its decision to close all ticket offices.

After the successful petitioning and leafleting at Bethnal Green on 17 December, maybe we could make Tottenham Court Road the next target of the campaign?
